Quilting-

 My attic room--

 It's a lovely bright space up here. 2 large windows. After Ruth left for home, I've used the other side of the room for my sewing spot.  I'd brought some fabric along to make new baby a quilt, so brought the sewing machines & ironing board up to my room.  I had brought a few sewing/quilting necessities along with me.  I had brought some fabric for some little girl dresses along too, but forgot to stick in my sewing patterns.  Boohoo.  The fact that Laura's sewing machine quite obstinately refuses to behave for either her or me (it works just fine for Laura's sister in law when she visits....)  makes sewing a bit more challenging, as I only have the serger to work with.

 And it's finished!  Just waiting for a baby so we can put her name on it!

 I had to take a picture of it outside-- It's ironic how spring like it looks outside and yet it is November and very chilly!  Laura's back yard is so cute tho.

2nd week- How does your garden grow?

 This Monday after lunch, we're all tucked in for a walk.  Laura sent us out for a while.

 I didn't stray too far from familiar territory, as the streets go every which direction and I'm easily turned around in my directions in an unfamiliar place.  We ended up at the gardens, as I was wanting to see what they looked like this time of year.
The answer--well, pretty different than our gardens look the end of Oct back at home!  Although the weather is quite cool, it is pretty mild and there are still flowers blooming and fall crops growing! 

 I love the bright yellow shed that Laura and Frederik built at the back of their garden.

and then we were home (rather quickly from the gardens as it had started to rain!) and she finished her nap after a nice walk in the fresh air.

Part 2 of the first week

I've been very slow at posting here.
We haven't been doing a whole lot, just some grocery shopping, some outings for fun, and lots of vegging at home.  The weather is mostly cloudy and it seems to rain a bit most days. I'm always happy to see the sun when it decides to peek out for a bit. I knew I preferred living somewhere it was less cloudy and rainy and where there's more sunshine regardless of the cold, and even being here for a week has confirmed that!
Just a few pictures from the rest of the week.

 Little Miss Muffett....Sat on the floor and played with her new table ware set.  She thought they were pretty neat!

 This little cutie came to visit one evening.  He's just 3 months old.

 We  were out running some errands one day. As usual it was mostly cloudy, but the sun was really struggling with the clouds this day.  I thought the steeples silhouetted against the sky was pretty.

 I thought this little car we parked beside was pretty funny looking-

 Laura and Frederik walked over to the garden and brought home these flowers, then Laura made this arrangement.  It really made a bright cheery spot in the cloudy grey day!

 And Little Miss....she really can climb up these winding steep and open staircases.  It pretty much gives me the shivers--haha.  However, generally when she gets up to my room on the 3rd floor, she really dosen't want to stay!

 Sunday evening-

 I was trying to get a picture  of her in this dress-- which Meshayla wore.  I have pictures of Meshayla in it, and want to compare how similar the girls look, once I get home. 

Maylia loves playing with this baby doll.  It makes crying noises when squeezed and it's pretty cute to watch her mimic being a mama!

First week at Laura's

Ruth left on Wednesday (Oct 25) to go back home, but we got in a little shopping and exploring first.

Ruth took this picture --I thought it was so cute! 

 On Tuesday we did a little 2nd hand browsing and also went to visit The Bolletje bakery museum.  also a little store and Tea room.

 They were not giving tours that day, but it was open for us to view and one of the men very graciously gave us this to read to help us understand what we were viewing.  It was quite helpful since everyone there spoke Dutch, not English anyway!

 .This rather took Ruth and I back to our day in St. Petersburg Russia when we visited a bread making museum there.  I have to say that this one- and the people who worked here were much more tourist friendly!

When we were finished, Laura, Ruth & I enjoyed coffee and cakes in the lovely tea room.

 I couldn't resist a quick picture of the peek I had into the cute kitchen!

 and that gorgeous glass in those lovely pocket doors!

Oh, and then we asked our server to take our picture---

 Woops, wrong one!  haha!  This one was hanging on the wall in another room, and I didn't actually see it, but Ruth took a picture of it!

That evening we went out for supper at a Pancake house in town.  If you saw my pictures/blog from last time I was here, we had went to one and I had never had pancakes like this before! Sweet- Savory, you name it. Whatever you want.  Laura and Frederik since discovered there was a restaurant in their town.

 Unfortunately we were nearly done with our Pancakes before either Ruth or I realized we'd forgotten to take a picture! (My pancake was Ham and Pineapple-- eaten with a dab of syrup on the side)!

 Miss Charmer liked the pancakes too!
